Just a really quick post today to direct you to the Writer’s Workshop blog at Starbase118.net. I was recently involved in a discussion over coffee about Mary Sue characters and the SB118 blog has a solid overview of what constitutes a Mary Sue, how the term came about, and some tips on how to avoid such characters.
While it is geared more specifically toward the RPG environment of Starbase 118, the ideas presented here can certainly be applied to all forms of writing.
